I think it's a bit of a stretch to say that time is infinite in extent since it depends on how you define it. If you believe that the beginning of time coincides with the beginning of our universe, and you buy into the big bang theory then we can theoretically come up with a start time. So what about an end time? Well, if time is dependent on the universe existing, we don't know whether or not time has an end. This all depends on how fast the universe is expanding, if it's expanding too slowly it will collapse back on itself into a singularity where time ends, but could restart as another big bang. If the universe is expanding quickly enough then I suppose time could go on forever.
I agree that time travel to the past is likely beyond the realm of possibilities, but time travel to the future, as it appears to the person traveling is most definitely possible. Remember the twin's paradox? Shoot one twin off in a space ship at speeds approaching the speed of light and when he returns he will have aged less than his brother. To the twin that has traveled at such speeds, he has traveled in time. This is because there is no single measure of time; each observer has their 'own time'. This can even be proven on Earth on a smaller scale simply with the gravity gradient of the earth. _________________ Kevin
